To begin with, where I live there shouldn’t be spring yet. But it’s here, twitter-pated birds and all. I haven’t tried the “balance-the-egg-on-end” thing, but we’ll take it as a given. Well, maybe not spring, but no snow, and temperatures consistently above freezing during the day. Good enough.

Anyway. We went out to listen to live music again tonight. The music was excellent, the performance was much too short, and maybe not as swinging as it could have been. But I was reminded of certain composers, and exposed to some new, so I have trails to wander down.

Hoagy Carmichael’s “Skylark.” What an incredibly beautiful piece. I can’t embed. You’ll have to trust me.
